The LEAF Center is located at Fremont‘s California Nursery Historical Park, on Niles Boulevard at Nursery Avenue. The community garden is fully ADA-accessible, with planters available for rent to Tri-City residents.
Residents of Fremont, Newark, Sunol and Union City can rent planters at this .6-acre garden, built and maintained by LEAF volunteers. It’s located in the California Nursery Historical Park, a scenic and agriculturally significant property owned by the the City of Fremont. While the city provides support and land, it does not provide funding; planter rental fees pay for Leaf Center operations and improvements.
Planters are state-of-the-art raised boxes, filled with a custom organic soil mix and drip irrigated on automatic timers. The planters, workshops, events and porta-potty are ADA accessible.
LEAF Center hosts our annual sale of veggie and herb seedlings on Earth Day each April. The seedlings are lovingly propagated at LEAF’s C.R. Stone Garden using organic materials.
Leaf Center is open to visitors only when volunteer staff is on hand. We apologize if it’s closed when you stop by, but encourage you to check out the rest of the park.
